BACKGROUND:

Two years into a business degree, I was given the opportunity to go on tour with a band as part of their crew. The band soared in popularity, so being the gear tech and merch seller quickly turned into production coordinating and tour managing.

After touring the world, finishing my degree, and meeting a girl (my wife), I needed a job.  Event production at Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Boulder, CO started my career in advertising. Soon after, the challenge of learning digital production pulled me in for the next 2 years.

That direction brought me to Leo Burnett in Chicago late in 2010 with my wife and 2 dogs.  Since then we’ve progressively moved out from the city to the burbs, got a cat, had twin daughters, two sons, and bought a house. Thankfully, I hate being bored.

As a Sr. Producer for Leo Burnett, I was the Digital Lead for the clients I serviced. My job consisted of pushing ideas, negotiating contracts, refining internal systems and educating team members. Client-side, I presented the latest possibilities and the best ways to realize great ideas efficiently.

In 2016, I took a job as Executive Producer at FCB Chicago where I focused on creating efficiency for my clients, training producers, and helping to integrate production approaches.

Through the magic of global pandemics, I ended up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. While freelancing in advertising, I’ve also started a creative management company with my wife and am learning about permaculture farming practices.

My career has been driven by my desire to learn and help those around me succeed. I love nerding out on things that haven’t been done before or are difficult to accomplish. I also enjoy working with teams to achieve a goal while helping team members realize their potential.

When I’m not working, I’m either with family, riding a bike, trying to fix something at the house, playing music, hosting a whiskey night, watching a movie, or (if I’m really lucky) fishing in a canoe.
